:: missing my pussy ::

i miss sumoki...it has been 2 years since i have left him back home in singapore.

no more having him lying on my right shoulder everytime i sleep, and him being near me when i am doing my work in the study or watching dvds.

despite my quarterly trip home, he has been keeping rather distant from me, especially when he knew that i am packing to leave him again. he would not even 'send me' away at the door like he always does. but i know that my mom takes better care of him, and i think he will deliberately show his affection towards her - in front of me. like my last trip, i sent him to the vet for his annual medical check-up, bath up, stock up his toilet and food supplies...but he didn't give me much in return, because he also knew that i will leave again.

sigh, i hate to thing the time when i have to make the decision to stay and live in the netherlands, or to return home. sumoki will definitely be a strong consideration to determine my decision...

there is a 'dutch-subsitute' for him, but he belongs to my neighbour. he would always appear from nowhere when i open the main door, and will hang around in my apartment, just to see if there are anything interesting - just to leave soon after. he is definitely more 'people-cat' than sumoki, but i know that he is just not sumoki, and he will never be.

i have been thinking about this after reading this article from oprah - about the death of her dear golden retriever, gracie. you may want to read it - so that you can really understand the relevance of this post.

:: tv musings on wet monday night ::

nothing suprises me anymore, since it has been 2 years since i step foot in the netherlands.

believe me, the dutch are liberal people/society/religion/government/etc etc..., more so than the perceived folks from the 'land of the free and home of the brave'....

to share an example, take a look of a typical program on monday night, before 10 pm...

i just love the dutch, because all the pretenses of censorship and being conservative do not make them less civilised or enjoy less quality way of life and definitely less anal-retentive than most folks that i know back home in singapore (and some singaporeans that i know in holland...boo!)

:: voyeurism ::

this is where i live in the hague, netherlands (taken from msn live map search).
the details are so real, even when my curtains are not fully shut (like i always do, because of not enough curtains...hehe) is real, scary!

:: corner of holland ::

yes, it was sunny weekend alright - but not before some dark clouds, storm and rain.
and it's the dutch summer, as expected ;-)

i went for a car ride (with a friend's new super-car) to the hoek of holland (corner of holland) - and i wondered if really singapore's port bigger than that of rotterdam's? this place is the equivalent of the singapore river in the old days, that is, by allowing the ships to dock at the harbour.

sunny wishes,

:: oh.. when will i get to wear my new sunglass?::

the weather has been cloudy since i arrived, let's hope the forecast of more sun this weekend comes true!

i can't wait to wear my 'bubble-bee prada shades' ;-)

till i see the sun, take care!

:: back in the lowlands ::

had a rather good flight from Singapore to Amsterdam in SQ324 - all the stereotypes about the local crews being only kind and polite to foreigners (ie: caucasians) are bollacks!

to be honest, i can't blame the SQ crew as most asians do not know how to say "thank you and please" and are bossy (even if they are a corporate whore and being bullied themselves at work). so, naturally the cabin crew formed such prejudices about the same kind about their passengers as well...hehe

assumptions and prejudices, you can't control them. luckily, i have a smiley face and that helps to get favours easily from the crew - and i am very courteous and polite by nature ;-)

i am so reliant for my 'jet-lag' pills for long-haul flight that it is scary, afraid that i will be over-dependent to them.

the weather from schipol to den haag was cloudy, i was too lazy to take the train that i decided to take the taxi instead.

bad choice, since the highway traffic was killing (expected since its morning peak rush).

once i arrived home, logon to office network and work from home (doing my unpacking and house chores at the same time).

i love the quality of work life here, but i do hate the idea of having to do the laundry, cooking and cleaning myself - spoilt brat!

tot ziens!

:: finally A&F gave in ::

slight more than a year ago, they rejected my online order - apparently (then) my american address (and dollars) were not good enough for abercrombie & fitch.

i just tried my luck again and places the following orders (because i just love the worn-out vintage detailing and colours)

somehow, this time...they have changed their minds.

and my orders were promptly shipped as promised ;-)

and as usual, clothes always look so much better in catalogs than in actual product.

but i'm happy - just in time for the summer (which i hope will come really soon here).

peace!

:: another day at the dentist (&more...)

i wish that more dentist will allow their patients to put on the ear plugs. i hate the sounds of polish and drilling in my mouth, it freaks me out - even though there weren't any pain.

other than the usual dental check-up, i have decided its time to whiten my teeth using the britesmile technology - just few days before my return trip back to the netherlands.

was i happy with the results? not really, it could have been better considering how expensive it was. but it was quite visible initially -- 4 shades whiter and you can't drink/eat anything that will make your white shirt stain (something to that effect) for the next 24 hours or so.

i guess i'm not that lucky to have the big teeth and stronger, whiter enamel compared to most caucasians.

unlike plastic surgery, there is so much you can do to your natural teeth - just like you can't change the colour of your skin.

so, based on that - i am contented, and yes, i will consider doing it again

ps: i'm not putting the before and after pics, it's disgusting since they put that 'gag-gadget' which made your jaw open wide that you can see the insides of my throat....gross!

smile!
